Join me for a creative and restorative weekend themed around the season focussing on seasonal art, writing, nature rituals and wellbeing.
Held at the Alderwasley Village Hall, Derbyshire this 16th century venue is a stunning space to create in, taking inspiration from the views and garden outside.
The weekend will include:
- A nature walk for gathering, collecting and observing nature's treasures.
- A meditation on nature
- Journalling for reflection and intention setting
- Drawing from observation - with a focus on process not outcome
- Collage for colour and experimentation
- Rituals to connect you to the season
- Affirmations for you to be able to feed your artist soul
In the beautiful hall, with views across the Derbyshire Dales I will gently lead you through a mixture of tasks to awaken the senses and melt away creative block. The focus of the weekend is gentle creative exploration using writing and ritual to connect to self and slow down with drawing based tasks to capture the season. Shared experiences and connected community are at the centre of the retreat with time to process where you are in life and how creativity can enhance your wellbeing. A simple shared lunch will allow time to be nourished.
You will end the weekend with techniques to bring to your creative practice and motivation to keep nourishing your artist soul and fulfill her ambitions.
Alderwasley Village Hall has plenty of parking right outside. Access is all on one level. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the weekend. A simple vegan lunch will be served on each day. Please let me know if you have any food intolerances or allergies.
Feel free to bring food, clothing, slippers, a blanket - anything that will make you feel comfortable.
There is plenty of accommodation in the area which you will need to book independently if required.
You are invited to bring nature treasures for the nature table and to wear suitable clothing for an outside amble to observe nature.
Art materials and paper will be provided but you may wish to bring your own journal and sketchbook and basic drawing supplies.
