I have been creating in this style with collage, paint and stitch since 2009. The style grew out of my textile based work - new technologies meant my designs needed to be print-ready so whilst I learnt Photoshop skills, I scanned paper based designs that I stitched in the same way I had my appliqués as a textile designer. I discovered that paper opened up so much more potential for colour and pattern and texture. I love creating all the layers that go into each artwork. Over the years my style has become bolder - I love creating a palette to tell a story of the season. I create in shape and colour - with bold compositions that are filled with minute details of text and pattern and texture.
